One Pure Gift was founded in 2008 By April Friend and her close family. April received a Kidney Transplant in 2003. Her mother donated her kidney giving April a second chance at life. Through her process April found that there was a lack in the financial and lifestyle aspect of transplant care. There was also no real organization in the Northern and Mid-Michigan area to help transplant patients connect with other organizations that would be able to offer assistance.
